MISSION

Based in the town of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Marie Curie Association has been implementing since 1997 both national and international projects aiming at contributing to the social, educational and labour integration of the people with disabilities in Bulgaria. Our activities are directed toward people with different type and stage of disabilities.

TARGET GROUPS

* young people;
* people with disabilities;
* persons from disadvantaged groups;
* teachers, trainers, university professors;
* policy makers on national and European level;
* employers, employers organizations;
* trade unions;
* European networks acting in the field of social work, education and life-long learning;
* different stakeholders with activities similar to ours.
Our programmes and activities are targeted to the main economic sectors, including Tourism and Hospitality, Food and Beverage, Biotechnologies and environmental protection, Education and life-long learning, Service sector, Marketing, Management, Human resource development.

AIMS

* Forming positive attitude towards people with disabilities and disadvantaged people and encouragement of the social engagement of employers, policy makers and other public bodies by regularly held PR campaigns, seminars, workshops, round tables and conferences;
* Access to education and training for young people with disabilities and disadvantaged through development of flexible programmes and materials for vocational training, adjusted to their specific needs;
* Formation of new opportunities for employment of people with disabilities and disadvantaged people by provision of life-long training in accordance with business requirements and the newest conceptions for human resource development in European plan;
* Provision of support for re-employment of elderly people by their inclusion in prequalification programmes and involvement in mentoring schemes for elderly people.
* Rising the quality of services for people with disabilities and disadvantaged people by development of innovative instruments and models for quality management, targeted to professionals working with the above-mentioned groups;
* Active work on the unification of European and national standards for informal and non-formal training as well as development of validation frameworks for recognition of knowledge and skills, acquired through vocational education and training (VET);
* Development of transnational projects incorporating the European Union policy for knowledge based economy;
* Cooperation with NGO’s, vocational training organizations, universities, and other institutions on regional, national and international level with activities and aims, similar to ours.

WE OFFER

* Innovative programs for vocational education and training in accordance with the real requirements of the labor market in European aspect;
* Flexible schemes helping the carrier development of young people and people from disadvantaged groups, such as mentoring for people with disabilities, instruments for attractive and effective self-presentation in front of potential employers, etc;
* Counseling people with disabilities in order to encourage their independent living;
* Opportunities for participation in training and working practice on international level;
* Training for professionals working with people with disabilities in close connection with the rise of quality of their work;
* Cooperation with NGO’s, vocational training organizations, universities, and other institutions on regional, national and international level;
* Development of transnational projects, aiming to implement new training approaches for professional realization of disabled people;
* Development of validation framework for evaluation of the achievements of people with disabilities and disadvantaged;
Innovative approach in the realization of training process, incorporated in ODL Systems for flexible and accessible training, based on contemporary researches and methods for vocational and educational training.

PROJECTS

The projects we develop are entirely innovative for Bulgaria and aim at introducing new approaches for the education, training and labour realisation of people with disabilities. The desired result is achievement of lasting improvement of the quality of services for disabled people. These transnational projects are carried out with the support of the EC. Our team is most experienced in the sphere of vocational training and education which is accomplished with the help of the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme.
